MAYOR'S MESSAGEDid you know we have a citywide alert system that will send updates directly to your email and phone by text message? In case of emergencies, it is so important that you have multiple ways to receive important information. For whatever reason, we have a hard time getting people to subscribe to receive these alerts. You may see it and because it's a regular day, you don't think anything of it. But when something like a citywide boil water notice happens, you sure wish you had alerts enabled. I'm asking you to take the time right now, click and fill out your information to opt in to our City Alert system at this link. You have the option to choose what you receive: alerts, newsletters, agendas, or community calendar updates. We use the alert system sparingly, meaning you won't get spammed with notices every day. But, when there is something significant you need to know about it, you will be the first to know. Don't put it off. It only takes a minute to do and you'll be glad you did. -Mayor Jay Willis

DOWNTOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYSIt's that time of year when the community comes together to kick off the holiday season in Pascagoula. Downtown for the Holidays will be on December 2 from 5-9 pm. The night kicks off with the lighting of the tree at the corner of Delmas Avenue and Magnolia Street. Santa will be in Santa's Sleigh to hear those early gift wishes. Get some holiday shopping done by shopping with local vendors who will line the street. The night will be filled with live performances by local dance and musical performers. The kids will be able to write letters to Santa and decorate Christmas cookies! It all leads up to a Christmas Parade of Lights at 7:30 featuring multiple lighted floats and marching bands. The night will end with a fireworks show. We can't wait to see you there! Vendors and those interested in joining the parade can contact Main Street Pascagoula by email at susannah@mainstreetpascagoula.com .
