MAYOR'S MESSAGEThis month we had the pleasure of welcoming hundreds of visitors to our city, hosting them at Beach Park for Cruisin’ the Coast. The amount of positive feedback we received about Pascagoula’s beauty and the hospitality shown by our residents was tremendous. We should all be proud to live in Pascagoula. I’m so happy to see how this event has grown over the years and the cruisers agree that we’re one of the premier venues on the Mississippi Coast. I would like to extend a special thank you to Nicky Maxwell and former Mayor Jim Blevins. Nicky has been the community chair for ‘Goula Cruise for several years and Jim is a faithful volunteer. These two men selflessly give their time and energy to make sure the event continues to excel and that visitors enjoy their stay in Pascagoula. Their hard work and dedication to our community is appreciated. We also had nearly 50 community members volunteer their time at 'Goula Cruise to greet and assist cruisers. Thank you to all involved! -Mayor Jay Willis

NEW BUSINESS SPOTLIGHTThis isn't technically a new business, but it's in a new spot. Trina's Sweet Treats had a ribbon cutting at their brand new Market Street location in September. This business is a great example of the growth we love to see. Trina's Sweet Treats got their start at Anchor Square and has now graduated to a larger location. Congratulations!

METASTATIC BREAST CANCER AWARENESSYou may have noticed the Round Island Lighthouse looked a little different the first half of the month. We are proud to join the #LightUpMBC global campaign by illuminating the Round Island Lighthouse in the MBC symbolic colors of green, teal, and pink to shine a light on Metastatic Breast Cancer, otherwise known as Stage 4. The tri-color ribbon goes beyond pink, including teal for spirituality and green for hope.

Resurrection Catholic School: At Resurrection Catholic School, a focus on service is a tradition that has been present since the school was founded in 1882. Today, students carry on this tradition in many ways. Our students have been busy this school year supporting charities such as Backpack Buddies of Pascagoula, Christmas boxes for needy children, and the Adopt a Grandparent program. As part of the Senior Service project, the Class of 2023 makes weekly visits to the Pascagoula Exceptional School as well as RCS Elementary where they spend time with the students and serve as mentors. RCS is proud to continue to teach the importance of service and making an impact in our community.
