MAYOR'S MESSAGEAs the weather gets warmer, we'll be spending a lot more time outdoors. I would like to ask you to help us take pride in our city by keeping it clean. The Police Department has created a great program that allows people to work off old fines by cleaning litter. Some of the areas they've been actively cleaning include Highway 90, Old Mobile Highway, and Chicot Street. Please do your part by not littering and picking up garbage if you see it. Remember, there is a fine of up to $500 if you're caught littering. - Mayor Demetropoulos

PLAQUE PRESENTATION IN MEMORY OF K.J. K.J. North never met a stranger and especially loved police officers, calling all of them his friends. K.J., a student at Cherokee Elementary, always wanted to be a police officer when he grew up. When asked why, he simply said he wanted to help people. Although K.J. lost his life in a car accident in October 2020 and never had the chance to fulfill his dream of being a police officer, thanks to Pascagoula-Gautier School District Chief of Law Enforcement Calvin Hutchins, Pascagoula Police Chief Matt Chapman and College Park Elementary Principal Suzanne Ros, a plaque in memory of K.J. was presented to his mother, Sharay North. The plaque features a photo of K.J. playing with a police car, along with a badge (K.J. 6) and a patch proclaiming K.J. as a Junior Officer.
