Litter Bugs Me Day March 18, 2011- Elementary Children in Pascagoula join forces to help win battle over pollution. Children wear a Litter Bugs Me sticker and help to clean their schools. Everyone receives a give-a-way bag. Contact Ann Burgo at 938-2356.


Daytime Easter Egg Hunt April 15, 2011- Children ages 2-5 are invited to Beach Park to participate in candy-walk and an egg hunt. Over 2,500 eggs. Prizes . Rain date April 23, 2011, 9:30am. Free Contact Ann Burgo at 938-2356.


Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt April 15, 2011-Children in grades 1-4 are invited to bring their flashlight to Beach Park and hunt for eggs after dark. Free. Bunny Hop Dance, Prozes. Karaoke 7:30 Hunt 8:00. Contact Ann Burgo at 938-2356.


Great American Clean-up April 16, 2011- Groups, organizations and family are invited to clean up Pascagoula. Sign-up to clean a park or street. 8-11am. Contact Ann Burgo at 938-2356.


Pascagoula River Festival April 16, 2011- A fun day of activities hosted by Scranton Nature Center includes: Petting Zoo, Story time with Mr. Owl, Reptile and Amphibian Seminars. Extra School Credit for students. Free 9am-5pm. www.pascagoularivernaturefestival.com . Ann Burgo at 938-2356.


Kids Fishing Rodeo- May 7, 2011. Children ages 5-13 move through a series of stations at River Park where they learn to rig poles and identify fish. Catch and release event is sponsored in part by Coastal Conservation Association. Rain date: May 28, 2011 8am-12pm. Free fishing poles and prizes. Contact Ann Burgo at 938-2356.

 

THE BLESSING OF THE FLEET May 21, 2011

The Pascagoula Blessing of the Fleet will be held Saturday May 21, 2011 at the Pascagoula River Park for both commercial and recreational watercraft of all sizes. The event starts at 10 AM and lasts until 5PM.

 The “Anything that floats but a boat” race is from 10:30am til 1:00pm.

 There will be  arts and crafts, kids activities and face painting.

12:45 Boats line up single file on the Pascagoula River behind green marker #5. Parade will head south down river channel in single file behind lead boat, turn and pass in front of pier area, turn on north side of bridge back into channel heading north and back up the river to rejoin end of line. Only after last boat passes pier may vessels tie up or break off to anchor. Call number below for FREE pre-register, then tune to VHF channel 6 during parade. Prizes and trophies awarded for best decorations.

2PM Boat parade and blessing kicks off.

Enjoy live bands and great food under the trees! Bring your lawn chairs.

4th of July Fireworks Show July 4, 2011- Citizens are invited to enjoy a 20 minute firework show shot over the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Show is orchestrated to music played live on Magic 93.7Fm. Fireworks begin at 9pm. Music show presented from 7-9pm by Pascagoula’s own Cloud Nine. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the show.

Historic Kreb’s Cemetery Tour October 27, 2011- Local actors in period costumes bring life to Pascagoula’s early ancestry buried in Krebs Cementery. Donations to Historical Society accepted. 5:30-8;00pm
