Pascagoula's Main Street program is off and running with the removal of the canopy from the Downtown Plaza area.

The canopy, erected in 1977, appeared dated and created a dark unwelcoming atmosphere.

The removal of the canopy brought comments such as "when did you plant the trees downtown?" and "I had no idea this was a two-story building."  The awnings will be going up soon along with the removal of some of the columns and many building renovations and refurbishments.

This is a very exciting time to be downtown!
