PASCAGOULA, Miss. August 1, 2017 – City of Pascagoula was notified by Jackson County officials on Tuesday that Old Mobile Highway’s (OMH) bridge east of Martin Street must be closed immediately beginning Wednesday, August 2, due to structural insufficiency. The bridge will close at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Jackson County’s road department will request authority to advertise to bid the bridge’s replacement project from the Board of Supervisors in the upcoming week.
The Pascagoula Police Department and Public Works Department are creating signs and barricades that will be staged today in anticipation of the road closure. City officials encourage citizens to proceed in this area with caution.
The City of Pascagoula will continue to share information as it becomes available.
