Pascagoula, Miss., July 24, 2017 – Pascagoula Parks continue to upgrade playground equipment to be more inclusive and ADA compliant. The Parks and Recreation Department and Chevron’s Enabled Network partnered in this summer to install a Ten Spin unit at Beach Park.
Earlier this year the Junior Auxiliary (JA) of Pascagoula-Moss Point and the Parks and Recreation Department installed ADA swings in Beach Park and Pine Street Park. JA donated funds to the City of Pascagoula to purchase two ADA swings and an ADA Access Ramp that were installed at two of Pascagoula's parks.
“We appreciate the Chevron Enabled Network and the Jr. Auxiliary for supporting the City of Pascagoula,” said Parks and Recreation Director Darcie Crew. “We are excited to be able to provide more and more recreational activities for people of all abilities”.
The Ten Spin unit is an accessible spinning unit built to accommodate up to 10 kids at one time. Similar to a merry-go-round, this freestanding unit allows children of all abilities to join in the fun by either sitting, kneeling, or standing. The Ten Spin is an inclusive product that allows children of all abilities to play together while providing an essential sensory experience that supports child development.
