City of Pascagoula to Recognize Local Citizens with Flagship Award

The City of Pascagoula has established the Flagship Award citizen recognition program to acknowledge and honor those citizens whose efforts and achievements help make Pascagoula a great place to live, work and play!  The Pascagoula City Council believes it is important to express gratitude and appreciation for those citizens who demonstrate commitment and leadership through extraordinary accomplishments to the betterment of our community.

The winner of The Flagship Award will be announced biannually.  The recipient of The Flagship Award will be selected by the Pascagoula City Council from a pool of the nominations made during the previous six-month period.

 

CRITERIA AND NOMINATIONS

Anyone can make a recommendation to the City Council to nominate an individual for the Flagship Award. To qualify for this recognition award, the nominee must be a Pascagoula resident and should display or meet the following criteria.

  • Strive to make a positive impact in the community
  • Enhance the Pascagoula community and the lives of its citizens
  • Address or fulfill a community need or concern

Recommendations should be mailed to Pascagoula City Hall, PO Drawer 908, Pascagoula, MS, 39568; dropped off at Pascagoula City Hall at 603 Watts Avenue, Pascagoula, MS, 39567; or emailed to rfloyd@cityofpascagoula.com. Or you can submit the nomination form here. It is important that you provide as much information as possible about the citizen, and explain their contribution and impact. Please feel free to send examples of the nominee’s work (e.g. videos, photographs, etc.). Note that all application materials will remain property of the City of Pascagoula and will not be returned.

RECOGNITION
Recipients will be announced and honored at the City Council meeting. At this time the award recipient will receive a small engraved plaque dedicated to the award winner. Each nominee will be recognized at the Council meeting and will be awarded a city coin.

The recipient and nominees will be notified one month prior to the meeting in which nominees are presented.
